Lou Perriello and I developed a children's program after my return to the Boston area in 1990. Participation grew slowly from a few kids at first to a full dozen. Teaching children requires a tremendous amount of concentration, patience, and creativity. I admit that after five years of it, I got a little burned out. It was a great opportunity for me, however, and I learned as much from the kids as they did from me.
