Camp Collier, Gardner, MA
Jan. 11-13, 2002

Troop 194's annual winter camping trip was to Camp Collier in Gardner, MA this year. A total of 19 Adults, 23 Scouts, and 5 Younger siblings participated. Scouts slept outdoors in Adirondak huts, while the adults and younger kids basked in the luxury of a heated cabin. The highlight of the trip was launching model rockets coordinated by Bob "Site Director" Dutton and Allan "Range Officer" Coady. They were aided by Dave "Swoosh" Dalrymple and Dan "Boom Boom" Churella as Ordinance Specialists.

The photo shows me and my son Michael with our rockets. Mike had a spectacular single launch which cork-screwed into the sky, while my rocket was launched four times before the nose cone was lost.

Saturday culiminated in a feast let by Jay Cullen and Dave Dalrymple. Ham, Turkey, Dressing, Salad, Veggies, and Desserts were featured. The feast was followed by several games of "The Omega Virus", culminating in a victory for the "human scum".

It snowed early Sunday morning as we were being treated to french toast by Ken "French Chef" Scheyder. A few casually tossed snowballs blossomed into a full scale snow ball war with all of the boys and most of the adults involved. This lasted a good half hour until most of the nearby snow had be scooped up and used as ammo.
