During the 1980's a small group of people designed and staged a series of thematic parties at science fiction conventions. Know as Boxboro Fandom, these people raised money, designed decorations, built props and costumes, promoted the events, ran them with an open bar, and cleaned up the inevitable mess left behind. Core members during these years consisted of Mark Norton, Brigid Cassidy, Steve Boheim, Anne Norton, Steve Koon, Lee Winter, and Tom McGary. Many other contributed or particpated as they were able.
